Getting your life back
Although reducing our screen time and usage is great for our health. I think we overlook the importance of being intentional with our time.
We all have the same 24 hours in a day. I’m sure everyone has heard of this before.
But I’m not going to follow this up with a hype quote to work harder or do more.
Instead, I ask you to be intentional with that time.
We have today.
We have right now.
I often feel that people tend to look too much into the past and future. Missing the most important time.
Which is now
It is the present.
Now, to make it clear, I am not saying to avoid looking at the past or future; that would be foolish.
The past is a great teacher. That is why history and critical thinking of historic events are so important.
The same can be said for the future. Being smart and planning for the future can lead to a bountiful harvest. Simply living just for the moment without consideration for the future isn’t a long-term solution either.
Which is why we must take the best of both. But remain balanced with a healthy emphasis on the here and now.
To quote Oogway from Kung Fu Panda
“Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why it is called the present.”
Don’t just float like a feather in the wind, but someone who is called to action.
Learn about things you like, pick up that hobby you’ve been pushing aside, spend time with your family, ask for that promotion or raise, or heck, find a job that is more meaningful to you. Unfortunately, living life intentionally and with meaning will look different for everyone. As such, I can not tell you what that would be for you. Fortunately for the world, meaningful living is different for everyone, and that makes the world diverse and every individual uniquely different with a beautiful gift to offer the world.
Love,
Kynr
